Landon Dupont has edgework unlike any other player in this draft. His smarts and IQ with the puck on his stick is honestly NHL ready today. Has a solid amount of speed to get back if he needs to but isn’t the fastest player ever. Very deceptive at the blue line and can shake off any number of defenders to get a shot off. Overall, highly talented skater that can get himself out of whatever danger he finds himself in.

SHOOTING | 8.4/10

Dupont is one of the very few WHL defensemen who have scored double digit goals in a season. How about back-to-back 10+ goal seasons? Shorter list. Landon Dupont is on both lists. His shot isn’t his best quality, but it isn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination. He has a clap bomb that he doesn’t use too much in his WHL career but hopefully he leans on it more in college. Upside of 10-15 goals in the NHL.

Physicality | 7.1/10

When a prospect is this highly touted, some skills need not apply. That is how I would describe Dupont’s physical game. It’s not necessarily bad, with him throwing the body at times but it’s not what you want him doing. The thing you want to see in him is a need to win, and a willingness to do whatever it takes. Dupont has that. That electricity and a need to win and throw his body on the line. Overall want to see a little more nasty as a Wolverine, the American college experience should do wonders as it has for McKenna.
